LA CIUDAD AMABLE: EL ESPACIO PÚBLICO COMO EJE DEL DESARROLLO URBANO SOSTENIBLE
Gaia Redaelli article on the relationship between public space and urban development in the experience of the program "La ciudad amable," which she promoted as Director General of Urban Renovation, construction and architecture of Andalusia Region.
The program - known as Best Practise (Short List) by UN-Habitat in 2014 - claims to field awareness raising, training and intervention on the city, public space and sustainable mobility that affect the improvement of the quality of urban space and on activation social, cultural and economic.
Spanish International Architecture Award in the category for Supporting the Internationalisation to the conference cycle "Made in Spain"
The series of international conferences "Made in Spain", promoted by the Foundation Contemporary Architecture when architect Gaia Redaelli was director, received the Spanish International Architecture Award in the category International Supporting.
The jury - formed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Public Works and integrated with CSCAE, National Order of Architects, Foundations and Institutes of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture and companies linked to the sector - has considered the cycle MadeinSpain deserving of this prestigious award, as an example of an initiative developed with the goal of internationalization and dissemination of Spanish architecture.
MadeinSpain, conducted with the support of public and private institutions, has already four editions: Europe (2009), Latin America (2010), Asia (2012) and Africa (2014) and, in the first half of next year, will be held the fifth edition in three US cities: Houston, New York and Miami.
The awards ceremony was held on November 19 at 13:00, at the Palace of the Senate in Madrid.

The series of meetings proposed by -svolti webinar- allows for participating in at least 5 of the 6 training events offered the 20 annual credits, including 4 of conduct required. RIAPRIRE I NAVIGLI! PER UNA NUOVA MILANO. VISIONE, STRATEGIE, CRITERI.
This is the title of the book published by the Association Riaprire i Navigli, published by Editions Biblion, which outlines the fundamental reasons and the strategic importance of the project to reopen the canals that were closed to Milan from fascism, from 1929 until years '60.
Eight kilometers from Cassina de 'Pomm in via Melchiorre Gioia to the dock through Via San Marco and the ring of canals. Eight kilometers to Milan to reactivate the entire system of canals in Lombardia. To bridge the Martesana with the Canal Grande and Pavese. To bridge the Lake Como and Lake Maggiore to the Po and the Adriatic.
As the president of Riaprire i Navigli in the introduction, this is not one of the many picture books, historical and iconographic on the canals. It 'a great story about why and how you should and you can reopen the canals in Milan in the interest of all citizens and the qualitative growth of the city.
The book is introduced by Giuliano Pisapia, Roberto Maroni and the historic Milan Tullio Barbato. A chapter of the book is devoted to the most spectacular images of the landscapes of the waters of Lombardia through the photographs of Stefano Topuntoli.
