The project, winner of the second prize of the competition, defines a unitari public strategy for common urban space surrounding Soncino’s walls. A wide context, useful to the relation of general planning with town’s public services and, especially, town’s transformation needs.
The intervention, on one hand, connects linearly the areas facing the walls, giving unity to the urban space, and, on the other hand, individuates punctual urban emergencies with commercial and cultural activities creating urban life and resolving functional problems (bus station, city park, building sto complete in order to define common spaces, walls garden…). In Gallonano, integrated in Soncino’s territori through various cyclo-paths going into the landscape, the project resolves the old town’s public space, paying attention to the big indefinite space in front of the cemetery.
